Is Freemasonry reserved for intellectuals?
Freemasonry has a history, and it is made up of knowledge that have different origins. Work are requested, as well as readings, but everyone can contribute at their own level. Freemasonry does not only call on knowledge, but above all addresses the heart and soul as well as the mind. Much of its symbols derive from the tools of the builders, which are references to the concrete world. Masonic work shapes not only the way of thinking, but above all the way of acting.
Which Obedience to choose: a women's Lodge or a mixed Lodge?
Brother or Sister, the question of choice arises. What's important is to make the right choice. A Lodge composed only of men or women has a different dynamic, the exchanges take place in a configuration that, if it is of the same gender, can frees speech, can strengthen trust, or facilitate sharing on certain delicate subjects. These remarks are made indifferently by Brothers and Sisters.
In a mixed lodge, exchanges and work are of the same quality, with the male-female dynamic generating another way of exchanging, reasoning, and working. Brothers and sisters opt for mixed lodges because of their relationship with their opposite gender and want to share ideas with both genders.
The Masonic path's quality is determined by the work done and the qualities of the assembly members, not by the nature of their obedience. Freemasonry is united in its diversity, which is a source of richness.
Can anyone enter freemasonry?
Yes, and no. Admission does not depend on criteria such as profession, social position or fortune. Nor on religion or race. Anyone who wants to join the freemasonry must have a clear goal, a desire to commit over time, invest time and integrate into a group. It must accept to question herself, and a concern for work and self-improvement. The admission procedure focuses on these aspects. It is obvious that anyone closed to these dimensions will not find their place.
Is Freemasonry expensive?
Being part of Freemasonry has a cost, which can be superimposed on the one practised by most associations. The contributions cover operating costs, but are not intended to accumulate a fortune. The Lodges are regularly making donations to different associations during the year, or following special events in Switzerland and abroad.
What freemasonry is not
A service club, a place of networking to do business, a political, artistic and commercial springboard. A place to engage in politics or proselytism.
