Men's Freemasonry
The GLFS is an exclusively feminine obedience, this means that only women are initiated into the GLFS lodges and that each lodge is led by female Freemasons.The Lodges may, however, if they so wish, welcome Brethren to participate in the various ceremonies.
Men interested in the Masonic approach who wish to work in an exclusively male environment can contact the” Swiss Grand Lodge Alpina” (SGLA).Founded in 1844, the SGLA has a total of nearly 3500 members in more than 80 lodges. Our Brethren work in 4 languages (French, German, Italian, English) and are present throughout Switzerland.The SGLA and the GLFS/Women's Grand Loge of Switzerland maintain a regular and harmonious dialogue between the governing bodies of both obediances. The GLFS and the SGLA signed a partnership agreement in March 2026. This convention aims to develop a synergy between the two obediences in a concrete way, by developing common projects, meetings, conferences, training, charitable actions. Collaborations that already existed will continue, such as joint publications and a contribution for the GLFS to the journal of the SGLA, the Alpina magazine, in which Sisters have already contributed for several years.
It should be noted that the novelty lies in the establishment of a Joint Coordination Committee which will meet regularly to decide on common activities.
